Each new generation of pocket cams seem to get better and better. Kodak’s new Zi8 is certainly no exception. For only $180 you get full 1080p recording, image stabilization, and an SDHC card slot.

Kodak seems to be eyeing a piece of that market share that the Flip Minos have enjoyed over the past year or so. This new camera does look to be better than the Minos (for now at least) so it will be interesting to see how the video quality is. Kodak says this camera will have improved low light performance and be able to track faces. It also has an external mic jack so you can connect your $500 external mic for better audio performance as well.

The Zi8 will retail for $180 and will be available in September of 2009.
